Tooth Extractions

Maintaining good oral hygiene is important because the loss of a single tooth can have significant impact on your oral health and your smile’s appearance. We will use any necessary procedures to prevent the loss of a tooth, but the following circumstances may require a tooth extraction:

  • Progressive gum disease
  • Tooth infection
  • Orthodontic correction
  • Severe tooth decay
  • Fractured teeth
  • Impacted wisdom teeth

Our dentists will examine the x-rays to determine the position and condition of the tooth and may propose a tooth extraction only after careful consideration. Discomfort is expected for a few days after the tooth extraction procedure, but the pain can be lessened with ice packs and pain medications if needed. If you experience prolonged bleeding or pain following your surgical procedure, please call us immediately.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about tooth extractions.

Implants tend to be more expensive than bridges because implants are stronger, longer-lasting, and don’t rely on surrounding teeth for support. Feel free to contact us for any questions about dental implants.
